I live in Alaska. A few of my goals are to make life as simple as possible and avoid the consumerism. There is a constant pull in our culture toward consumerism. The "rich" life is what so many are working hard to obtain. The "rich life" being the pursuit of money and stuff over more important things. Though it may be tempting, that life style seems to be filled with massive consumerism and waste and is anything but DIY.
